Fifty-one percent of real estate professionals say they expect home values to increase in the next six months, a rising number from 48 percent in the second quarter, according to HomeGain’s third quarter National Home Values Survey of real estate professionals and home owners. Meanwhile, thirty-four percent of home owners say they expect home values to increase in that time period, up from 27 percent in the previous quarter.

“Optimism about the direction of home prices continues to grow,” says Louis Cammarosano, general manager of HomeGain. “The survey shows an increase in optimism, especially over the course of the next two years, as 80 percent of real estate professionals expect home prices to be higher than they are today.”

The following are the top 10 states where real estate agents are the most optimistic that home prices will rise in the next six months.

  1. Colorado
  2. California
