Fort Collins is a northern Colorado town nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, 65 miles north of Denver. The city is 5000 feet above sea level and is known for the sharp cliffs of Horsetooth Mountain that dominates the city skyline. It has a population of 143,986 and was first founded as a military outpost in 1864. Not only is Fort Collins scenic but also it still retains a lot of its original historical architecture.
Fort Collins still is and always was a very conservative city and for decades it was known as a non-drinking town. There are only two gay bars here even though the city is quite large. Popular with both gays and lesbians is Shots Choice City that has lots of drag shows and theme nights. There is also the Fox Bar that features loud music and dancing go-go boys.
