Cleveland’s’ 2014 Top LGBT Neighborhoods and Home Prices

Cleveland, Ohio Gay Real Estate

Cleveland, Ohio, may not be the gay capital of the world, but that doesn’t mean the city is lacking LGBT-friendly communities.  In fact, Cleveland is home to three neighborhoods that have become home to a good part of the city’s gay community.

Ohio City is an historic area just west of downtown Cleveland.  This very diverse area has a very active community and a wide variety of housing options.  Condos and apartments start out at $72,000.  If you’re looking for a single family home, you’ll find that they start at around $50,000 and can top out at about half a million dollars.

The Detroit Shoreway neighborhood is near Lake Erie and is home to Cleveland’s LGBT center.  It’s a progressive arts neighborhood full of creative individuals.  Single family homes start out at around $60,000.  The more expensive houses in the area are priced between $300,000 and $400,000.

Finally, the Edgewater area, especially the neighborhood between Clifton and Baltic, is a historic area where you’re sure to see a few rainbow flags flying on a daily basis.  It’s also home to a few gay bars and has an active gay scene.  Single family homes start out at around $50,000.  The more expensive homes in this area are priced at half a million or more.
