Asheville Gay Neighborhoods
Asheville, North Carolina, is home to more than 80,000 people and is the central city for the Asheville Metro Area, which covers four counties. The city has been named to many different lists, including Good Morning America’s “10 Most Beautiful Places” list and as one of the best cities for writers, artists, and new businesses. Many different micro-breweries are also present in Asheville, and it has held the title of Beer City USA for many years.
The city’s economy revolves around healthcare and education, although the state, county, and city are among the top ten largest employers in Asheville. The U.S. National Climatic Data Center, which houses the largest collection of weather information, is located in Asheville.
Montford is one of the best LGBT neighborhoods in Asheville. It’s one of the historic neighborhoods, which means homes do tend to be slightly more expensive than other areas. Single-family homes range from $259,000 to $2.35 million. Condos, on the other hand, are hard to find here.
Then there’s West Asheville, which is located near the river and has a great view. Again, there aren’t many condos for sale here, but those that are available are usually around $300,000. Single-family homes range from $225,000 to $685,000.
