New York City – the Big Apple.  The city is high on the list of places to visit and live for the LGBT community, especially those who love the theater.  It’s also the location of the historic Stonewall riots, one of the most important parts of LGBT history.  NYC is home to the largest gay and lesbian communities in the U.S., and while you can point to specific neighborhoods, it’s safe to say that you’ll find LGBT people throughout the area.  There aren’t a lot of gay neighborhoods because the entire city is gay-friendly.

The West Village is gay central in the heart of New York City with a Median Sales Price of $1,250,000.00 and an average listing price of over 4.5M.

One of the biggest LGBT areas in New York is City Island, which is considered part of the Bronx.  This popular location has been home to many gays and lesbians since the 1960s.  There are a lot of couples who have purchased homes and lived in the area for years.  Even though it’s part of New York City, it has a friendly, small town atmosphere to it. 

Condos on City Island start out at $280,000.  The more expensive ones can be as much as $700,000.  Single family homes can range anywhere from $300,000 to $1.4 million.
