Indianapolis Gay Neighborhoods
Indianapolis, Indiana, is both the largest city in the state and its capital. There are more than 850,000 people living in the city, which makes it the second-largest in the Midwestern U.S. behind Chicago. The metro area around Indianapolis is much larger, with almost two million residents. The city also covers more than 370 square miles, making it one of the larger cities in the U.S.
Indianapolis is one of the largest economic regions in the country and is home to several Fortune 500 companies, including Eli Lilly and Anthem Inc. A number of other large businesses have offices or their headquarters in the city, too. Indianapolis is known for the famous Indianapolis 500 race and its museum of art, among other cultural sites.
One of the main LGBT neighborhoods in the city is Whitaker Valley Estates. This is a fairly new area that quickly became home to many LGBT individuals and families. There are no condos in this area yet, but single family homes are generally priced between $150,000 and $200,000.
