Fresno Gay Friendly Neighborhoods
Fresno, the fifth largest city in California as of 2013, is located in central California. It’s the largest part of the Fresno-Madera metro area and is home to a number of different theaters, museums, and more.
There is one major LGBT neighborhood in Fresno: the Tower District. It’s located in Central Fresno and is where the annual pride parade takes place. The center of the Tower District is the Tower Theatre, an historical location located at the intersection of Olive and Wishon Avenues. The Tower District is north of downtown Fresno and is near Fresno City College. While the area declined during the 60's and 70's, it has since been revitalized. Today, the Tower District is known for being both the center of Fresno’s LGBT community and the city’s Hipster community as well as being a prime location for punks, goths, and heavy metal fans.
Fresno is a fairly inexpensive place to live. A small condo can cost anywhere from $37,500 to $425,000. A single family home, on the other hand, may range anywhere from $190,000 to more than $300,000.
