Joo is also committed to the local LGBTQ+ community, sponsoring many events (Lisbon Queer Film Festival, Lisbon's Pride Parade, Miss Drag Lisboa, Rainbow Awards), and acting as the current President of Variaes - LGBTQ+ Commerce and Tourism Association of Portugal, responsible for bringing the Europride 2025 to Lisbon.
