Fairfield, CA, Top LGBT Neighborhoods and Home Prices

Fairfield Gay Neighborhoods

Fairfield, California, is home to more than 100,000 people, many of which work at Travis Air Force Base.  Fairfield sits at the midpoint between Sacramento and San Francisco, plus it’s also near Oakland and Napa Valley.  The area was inhabited by Native Americans for centuries, and some of the remains found in the area date back six thousand years.

Today, Fairfield is home to a number of major companies in a variety of industries.  While the air force base employs the largest number of people, others work for Jelly Belly, Clorox, or Anheuser-Busch.

There are a few gay and lesbian bars in Fairfield, but since it’s so close to San Francisco, there’s not exactly a gay district.  Most people who want to go out make the drive to the Castro.  But Fairfield is more affordable and less crowded than San Fran, which a lot of people like.

Single family homes on the low end of the scale cost $225,000 while higher end homes can be priced for as much as $2.3 billion.  Condos, on the other hand, start at $135,000 and range to $210,000.
