Foreclosure starts rose in January suggesting the pipeline is starting to move, according to the latest mortgage monitor report from Lender Processing Services ($23.69 1.27). LPS said foreclosure starts in the first month of 2012 rose 28% from December but fell 11.5% from a year earlier. Florida home prices and sales dipped in January from the previous month but showed some positive movement over year-ago figures, according to a statewide real estate association. The January median single-family sales price of $129,000 was 4.8% below $135,500 in December, Florida Realtors reported.
