Forty-five percent of Nevada home owners recently surveyed say “there is nothing wrong” with walking away on your mortgage obligations, according to a new report, “Face of Foreclosure,” released by the Nevada Association of REALTORS®. Home prices are inching up in many areas, but in several metros housing bargains can still be found. The median asking price in June nationwide was $195,000, according to Realtor.com housing data. But of the 146 housing markets that Realtor.com tracks, the following 10 areas had the lowest median asking prices in June. The number of international buyers conducting home searches for U.S. properties has fallen nearly 10 percent in the last year, Trulia reports in its International House Hunter Report, which covers the period of April 1 to June 30. The report suggests that rising U.S. asking prices are cooling international interest. The economy is still struggling to gain its footing, prompting several Federal Reserve officials to push for a new stimulus campaign, which could include a move that would push mortgage rates even lower. Fewer distressed homes on the market are contributing to inventory shortages in California, the California Association of REALTORS® reports. CAR reported that its Pending Home Sales Index dropped 3.8 percent from May to June. Still, it was up 4.7 percent year-over-year. REOs made up 20.2 percent of the state’s pending home sales in June, which is a decline from 29.2 percent a year ago.
