Online real estate marketplace Trulia just posted the final 2012 election edition of the Housing Misery index, combining price declines, delinquency, and foreclosure rates. Nevada and Florida are the highest misery states in the country, an index directly linked to the health local housing markets. Fannie Mae finds increased homebuyer faith in housing recovery

Sixty-nine percent of the consumers answering Fannie Mae’slatest housing survey said they would choose to buy a home over renting if they had to move in the coming months. Mortgage applications fall as the 30-year FRM edges up

The number of mortgage applications filed for the week ending Oct. 5 fell 1.2%, the Mortgage Bankers Associationsaid Wednesday morning. The decline occurred as refinancing activity fell 2% from the previous week.
