The economy got a little boost in October and November that was mostly attributed to an increase in home sales and consumer spending, according to the Federal Reserve’s Beige Book. Nine of the Fed’s 12 regional banking districts showed growth during the time period. A new LendingTree report shows that Nebraska home owners have the lowest mortgage payments in the nation — $711 per month on average over the past year, beating out Arkansas’ $715 and Iowa’s $717 averages. According to the research, the District of Columbia is home to the highest average mortgage payment of $1,641 per month, followed by Hawaii ($1,536) and California ($1,445).
