Virginia Beach Gay Neighborhoods
Virginia Beach, Virginia, is the most populous city in the state with more than 450,000 people calling it home. It sits on the Atlantic Ocean and is a part of the Hampton Roads metro area along with Portsmouth, Hampton, and several other cities. Virginia Beach is considered a resort city, and much of its economy comes from the tourism industry. The city is home to many different historic sites, three military bases, and events such as the East Coast Surfing Championship. Virginia Beach is in the Guinness Book of Records for having the world’s largest pleasure beach and the world’s largest bridge-tunnel complex.
While Virginia Beach is the headquarters of the Christian Broadcasting Network, a conservative network owned by Pat Robertson, that doesn’t mean the entire city shares those views. In fact, Virginia Beach is known for being more liberal than some of the other areas of the metro area. This is mainly because the city is so large that its population is incredibly diverse. However, there’s no real gay ghetto in Virginia Beach.
Condos in the city start at around $120,000 and max out at about $2 million. Single family homes cost anywhere from $85,000 to $8.5 million.
