Grand Prairie Gay Neighborhoods
Looking for a huge flea market, an outstanding parks system, and an indoor waterpark? Then you’re looking for Grand Prairie, Texas. This city of some 175,000 people is a part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metro area and sits along the Trinity River’s West Fork and Johnson Creek. Massive flooding once threatened the city on a regular basis, but thanks to the Army Corps of Engineers, that’s no longer the case.
Many people who live in Grand Prairie do commute into the larger metro area for work, but there are many employment opportunities in the city itself. The school district, Lockheed Martin, Poly-America, and Vought Aircraft all employ a good number of people in the area.
Grand Prairie doesn’t have a gay ghetto since it’s so close to Dallas, but you may still find a welcoming neighborhood. The city did rank fairly low (a 24) on the 2017 HRC Equality Index, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s not a place you can call home.
Grand Prairie is not known for its condos. In fact, you may not find any for sale in the city. If you’re looking for single-family homes, though, you’ll find some very reasonably priced houses. The market starts at around $100,000 and tops out at $600,000.
