Philadelphia Gay Friendly Neighborhoods
As one would expect from a city that gave its name to one of the first mainstream movies about homosexuality, Philadelphia is a fairly LGBT-friendly city. It’s also huge—with its 1.5 million people, it’s the fifth most populous city in the U.S. The City of Brotherly Love is a great place to move if you’re looking for a metro area that’s accepting of everyone.
One of the most popular LGBT areas in Philadelphia is Center City. Most of the city’s gay-owned businesses are here. The area is defined as the section of the city between 11th and Broad Street that stretches from Walnut Street to Pine Street. Condos in Center City cost anywhere from $110,000 to almost $3 million for a huge home on the Avenue of the Arts. Single family homes range from $300,000 to $330,000.
Pennsport is another popular LGBT neighborhood. This diverse area features beautiful streets with great landscaping. It’s close to Center City and the river, too. Single family homes range from $110,000 to $859,000. Condos start at around $115,000 and top out at around $1.5 million.
