Columbus Gay Neighborhoods
Columbus is the capital city of Ohio, and it’s also its largest city with more than 850,000 people. It’s the center of the Columbus Metro Area, which covers land in ten different counties. The city sits at the meeting point of the Olentangy and Scioto rivers, creating a unique city area that has some incredibly beautiful parks and other outdoor areas.
Columbus’s economy is very diverse. Insurance, fashion, food, steel, medical research, and education are just a few of the different businesses that the city relies on. Five different Fortune 500 companies have their headquarters in the city, including Nationwide Mutual Insurance and Big Lots. Many other businesses such as Wendy’s and Red Roof Inn are also based out of Columbus.
The city’s gay neighborhood is called the Short North district. It sits to the north of Columbus’s downtown. The area is home to a good number of college students during the academic year since Ohio State University is located in the area. Single family homes here range from $500,000 to $1 million dollars. Condos are more affordable, ranging from $200,000 to $560,000. Many properties in the area are rental properties ideal for students, however.
