Durham Gay Neighborhoods
Sitting in the north-central part of North Carolina, Durham forms a part of the Durham-Chapel Hill Metro Area and is a part of what is known as the Triangle area along with Carrboro, Hillsborough, and North Chatham. Duke University is located in Durham and draws a number of students to the area, as does North Carolina Central University.
Despite what many have heard about North Carolina, this part of the state is actually very welcoming, and there are a number of LGBT people who live here. The city is known for its Drag Bingo event, a monthly fundraiser hosted by drag queens. The North Carolina Gay and Lesbian Film Festival is also held in the city every year.
While Durham doesn’t have an area known for being a gay neighborhood, it does have many great homes for sale. You can find condos priced between $70,000 and $1.8 million. Single family homes can be found for anywhere from $67,000 to $3.8 million.
