Asheville, NC Real Estate & Housing
Asheville, NC, has a number of great little businesses and communities. While North Carolina has historically not been one of the most LGBT-friendly states, Asheville is surprisingly liberal. The further out from the center of the city, however, the more and more conservative the neighborhoods tend to be.
While most of Asheville is very welcoming, West Asheville is noted as being one of the most LGBT-friendly. The neighborhood features a dog park and a view of the river. The population of this area is younger than most. Homes start at $123,000 and top out at around $425,000.
Montford is another good location. This historic area is located between highways 26 and 25 and is bordered on the south by highway 240. Houses here tend to be more expensive than those in Asheville. Condos start at $239,000, while single family homes start at around $248,000. The most expensive homes may have a price tag of $2.5 million.
