St. Louis Gay Neighborhoods
Home to the famous Gateway Arch, St. Louis, Missouri, is one of the main economic powerhouses of the central part of the U.S. It’s the core of the Greater St. Louis area, which has almost 3 million people living in it. St. Louis itself has about 310,000 residents. The city was first settled by French traders, but today, it’s a massive community of many diverse people. It’s also home to a number of well-known businesses, including Purina, Boeing, Emerson, and Energizer.
In sports, the city is known as the home of the Cardinals baseball team and the Blues hockey team. In addition to the Gateway Arch, other major historical sites in St. Louis include the Art Museum, the Missouri Botanical Guardians, and Union Station. The station was at one time the largest train station in the world, although parts of it have since been converted into a shopping center.
For those who want to live in a gay neighborhood, there’s the Tower Grove area. This part of the city is also home to many students because it’s near Washington University and St. Louis University. This younger demographic makes Tower Grove very welcoming and diverse. The houses here are mostly late Victorians, but you’ll find some more modern homes, too. Single family homes range from $50,000 to $500,000. You won’t find many condos in this area.
