Boston’s 2014 Top LGBT Neighborhoods and Home Prices

Boston Gay Neighborhoods

Boston is a great city full of history.  You’ll find plenty of museums and historical sites to visit, plus the view from the coast is incredible.  While the city and most of the state of Massachusetts as a whole are very welcoming to LGBT people, Boston does have a few neighborhoods that are especially welcoming.

The South End is located in Boston’s downtown area.  It is home to some great bars and nightclubs.  Homes in the South End are fairly expensive.  Condos typically start at around $169,000, but upper end ones can hit the $2.5 million mark.  Single family homes start at $825,000 and can also top out at almost $3 million.

Savin Hill is an up and coming area that’s actually in a small town called Dorchester, but it’s merged with Boston over the years.  It’s a great place for those who want to live in Boston without actually living in Boston.  Houses start out at $165,000 and top out at $995,000.

Melville Park has a lot of large Victorian homes and condos.  It’s close to downtown Boston and many other locations via the Red Line.  Homes seem to rarely come up for sale in this area, so if you see one you want, you should jump on it.  They can range from $439,000 to $689,000.
