New Orleans Gay Neighborhoods

New Orleans, also called NOLA or The Big Easy, is one of the most well-known cities in the U.S.  It’s the largest city in Louisiana and is one of the biggest ports in the country.  The city is also one of the most LGBT-friendly cities in the country, coming in second in terms of friendliness behind San Francisco.

One of the most popular gay-friendly neighborhoods in New Orleans in the French Quarter, especially the Eastern half of it.  It’s been named one of the most fun LGBT neighborhoods in the country.  Living there isn’t cheap, however.  Condos range from $200,000 to $1.2 million, while single family homes can cost anywhere from $167,000 to almost $3 million.

Bywater is an historic area that also very LGBT-friendly.  It’s a quaint little neighborhood that’s a lot quieter than the French Quarter (and it’s also cheaper).  Bywater is home to a number of artists and musicians, so it’s a bit of an eclectic neighborhood.  Condos in the area start at $155,000 and can be as much as $410,000.  Single family homes are usually in the $200,000 to $265,000 range.
