Joliet Gay Neighborhoods
Located in the northeastern part of Illinois, Joliet is about 40 miles away from the larger city of Chicago. This makes it an ideal home for those who want to be near the big city but don’t want to live in it or one of its busier suburbs. Joliet is still home to almost 150,000 people, though, which makes it the fourth largest city in the state. It sits across both the DuPage River and the Des Plaines River, plus there are a number of other waterways located within the city. Many people spend time outdoors near one of these canals, rivers, or creeks during warm weather.
Are you thinking about moving to Joliet? If you are, you’ll find a number of nice homes for sale here. There is a good sized LGBT presence, too. Much of it is focused around the area on Jefferson Street, where Maneuvers, one of the most popular gay clubs, is located. However, you’ll find a number of LGBT-owned businesses throughout the city.
A condo in the city may be priced anywhere from $60,000 to $239,000. A single family home starts at $99,000 and ends at around $1.1 million.
