Tampa Gay Friendly Neighborhoods
Tampa, Florida, was a fairly quiet town until the late 1800s when, thanks to the railroad industry, the city exploded. Today, there are over 350,000 people living in Tampa, including a fairly large LGBT population.
The GaYbor District is the most well-known LGBT neighborhood in Tampa. It’s part of the historic Ybor City and is home to many gay bars, nightclubs, and other businesses. The GaYbor area is centered around the intersection of 15th Street and 8th Avenue, and it’s easy to identify thanks to a number of signs. The GaYbor District hosts an annual LGBT street party and the Tampa International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, one of the largest independent LGBT festivals in the U.S. Condos in this area range from $123,000 to $255,000. Single family homes are usually priced between $190,000 and $220,000.
Seminole Heights is another popular LGBT neighborhood in Tampa. This area is located in the heart of the city and features an eclectic, diverse population. The homes are usually fairly unique and really stand out from other neighborhoods and from each other. Condos are usually priced around $120,000; single family homes can cost anywhere from $99,000 to $495,000.
