Key West's Top Gay Neighborhoods
Key West includes more than just the island of Key West—the city also encompasses a part of Stock Island, Fleming Key, Sigsbee Park, and Sunset Key. Key West is a very open, welcoming city. As such, there aren’t really specific gay communities or neighborhoods.
Key West made headlines when Richard Heyman, an openly gay man, was elected mayor in 1983. The city also hosts a large seven day PrideFest and is home to the Key West Gay & Lesbian Museum & Archive, a part of the LGBT Community Center. Because of how welcoming it is, Key West is a large gay travel destination.
