Jacksonville Gay Neioghborhoods
While it’s not the capital of Florida, Jacksonville is the largest city in the state. In fact, it’s the largest city by land area in the U.S. Because it’s so large, there are a number of different areas the LGBT community calls home.
The Venetian on the Ortega River is a waterfront property for those who are interested in boating or nightlife. It features canals and a marina styled after Venice. Naturally, because some of them are on the waterfront, homes aren’t cheap. However, you can find some built inland for $139,000. The more expensive houses hit the $3.5 million mark. Condos range from $100k to $300k.
Riverside is a very popular gay community that’s home to a large number of bars, clubs, and the Jacksonville gay community center. It’s also the main location for Jacksonville’s Pride Parade. Homes in the area start out at $70,000, although the more expensive ones are priced at $2.5 million or more.
Avondale is another area with a large LGBT population. It features a number of older, larger homes that can be quite expensive. Single family homes start out at about $150,000; however, the more expensive ones easily cost $2 million or more.
