Fort Lauderdale’s 2014 Top LGBT Neighborhoods and Home Prices

Fort Lauderdale Home Prices

Fort Lauderdale is more than just a popular spring break destination for college students.  It’s also home to a growing LGBT community.  There are a number of neighborhoods where you’ll find many LGBT individuals and families.

One of the biggest is Wilton Manors.   Wilton Manors is actually a small town in its own right, but it’s so close to Fort Lauderdale that most consider it a part of the city.  There are dozens of gay-owned businesses in the area.  Small condos start out at $50,000.  Single-family homes range from $111,000 to upwards of $1 million.

The South Middle River area of Fort Lauderdale is near Wilton Manors and has slowly been renovated and restored.  The area is home to a great Gay Lesbian Community Center and many gay businesses.  Homes are cheaper than in Wilton Manors.  Homes start at $62,000 and top out at around $465,000.  Condos are a bit more expensive, ranging from $77,000 to $525,000.

Riverland is located to the southwest of Downtown Fort Lauderdale.  This neighborhood features a number of older homes that may need a bit of TLC.  The LGBT community is slowing increasing in size here.  Single family houses start at $110,000 and can run up to $1.25 million.
