Hartford Gay Neighborhoods
Hartford, Connecticut, is the capital city of the state, and while it’s not the largest city, it is home to many major industries. The insurance industry, in particular, has a very large presence in Hartford. The city has been known for being both one of the richest and one of the poorest in the country, and today’s housing prices are rather reasonable.
Hartford does have a gay neighborhood: the southern part of the West End and the adjoining area known as Parkville. The West End is the part of Hartford between Park River and the border of West Hartford. It includes Elizabeth Park, the University of Connecticut School of Law, and several historic mansions.
Condos in this area start at $63,500 and range up to $500,000. Single family homes range from $120,000 to large homes priced at $1.8 million.
