Sacramento Gay Friendly Neighborhoods
While it’s not as famous as San Francisco or Los Angeles, Sacramento, California is one of the state’s largest cities. It’s also the state capital. As one would expect from a city that’s been named “America’s Most Diverse City” by TIME magazine, Sacramento does have a good sized LGBT population. In fact, it’s been estimated that about 10 percent of the population identifies as LGBT, making Sacramento home to the seventh-largest LGBT population per capita in the U.S.
Sacramento does have several gay neighborhoods. The first is Elmhurst. This open, friendly neighborhood is home to a number of LGBT-owned businesses and is known for its many different trees. Single-family homes range in price from $225,000 to $440,000. Condos are fairly difficult to find in Elmhurst.
South Land Park Hills is another LGBT neighborhood. Located near the original Land Park area, Again, there aren’t a lot of condos available in the neighborhood. Single-family homes, however, are abundant. Those on the cheaper end are usually around $285,000. The more expensive houses in the area may be priced at $600,000 or more.
