Ontario, California, is located only about half an hour from Los Angeles. While the suburb is smaller than LA proper, it is home to over 160,000 people. Living in Ontario means that you would have access to everything that LA itself offers. The city handles much of the freight traffic for the area due to its location between the ports and the rest of San Bernardino County.
Ontario is known for a number of different artistic endeavors, including hosting the second largest quilt show in the nation and having one of the top dinner shows. A number of corporate headquarters or major distribution centers are located in the city, including Nordstrom, AutoZone, and the Icee Company.
Ontario doesn’t have a gay ghetto, but since it’s so near to many other LGBT areas, that doesn’t really matter much to its residents. There’s not a gay bar or club in the LA area you can’t get to within an hour or so, depending on traffic.
Condos in the city are reasonably priced for the area and range from $130,000 to $395,000. Single-family homes are also priced very reasonably, starting at $140,000 and ranging up to $3.5 million.
