Long Beach Gay Neighborhoods
Long Beach, California, is known for its gorgeous beaches and beautiful weather. It’s in California, so the cost of living may be a little higher than you’re used to if you’re moving into the area. However, the blue waters and sandy beaches may be worth it. The city has a few LGBT communities, too, so you can find a place where you feel right at home.
Alamitos Beach is one of the Long Beach neighborhoods that has beachfront property. It’s on the southern end of the city, and it has a very active LGBT community that includes many gay-owned businesses. Cheap condos start at $105,000 and range up to $1.2 million. Single family homes can run anywhere from $210,000 to $1.15 million.
Then there’s California Heights. This historic neighborhood has a mix of traditional and Spanish houses. It’s also home to a wide variety of people—not strictly a LGBT neighborhood, you’ll also find older residents and some young straight couples new to Long Beach. It’s a very charming, safe area. Houses here can cost anywhere from around $500,000 to $725,000. Condos are cheaper, costing anywhere from $178,000 to $250,000.
