Louisville, CO – Gay Lifestyle in Top-Ranked Small Town

Louisville, pronounced Loo-ville, is a small town of 18,376 but CNN Money Magazine just named it the second best place to live in all of the United States. In 2012, it also made the Family Circle top ten list of places to live. It is very conveniently located in the Southeastern part of Boulder County near U.S. Highway 36 that links the city to Denver and Boulder.

This pretty city has been well preserved by the town’s historical society. It began as a mining community in 1877 and it was once known for its many rollicking saloons that were supposedly all connected by tunnels.  At one point there were over thirty mines located beneath the city.

Today this sophisticated small town offers residents 26 city parks, 1,800 of open spaces, 26 miles of hiking and biking trails and a gigantic award winning nine million dollar public library. The center of town is the Steinbaugh Pavilion that is used as an outdoor concert venue in the summer and as an ice rink in the winter.

One of the draws of living here is that it is around 40% cheaper to buy a home here rather than in nearby Colorado. The town is also drawing a younger, hipper crowd that works in scientific and technology jobs. A giant energy center operated by ConocoPhillips was opened in the summer of 2013 and that is attracting commercial business and jobs.

The historic downtown also has a couple of fusion cuisine restaurants including the James Beard award-nominated restaurant called the Empire Lounge. It also has a large studio space called the Art Underground that operates as an exhibition and performance space.

Golfing is a popular past time in this relaxing town with the hilly Coal Creek Golf Course being popular with both visitors and locals.

There are no gay bars or a \"gayborhood\" in Louisville, Colorado as it is so small.
